Counselling conducted for 140 rowdysheeters in 11 police station limits
The City Police Commissioner, N Sambasiva Rao has organized a counselling session christened 'rowdy darbar' at the Armed Reserve Grounds on Wednesday. He advised the rowdies them to stop indulging in criminal activities and earn livelihood honestly and see new light in their lives else will have to face difficulties. The Commissioner conducted counselling for 140 rowdysheeters from 11 police station limits and closed rowdysheeters against 26 persons as they maintained good conduct in the last few months. However, he warned them of severe action in case they are found to be indulging in any activity considered prohibitory in the law.
There are 160 rowdysheeters who were registered in 11 police stations under the Commissionerate limits. A separate session will be conducted for 32 rowdysheeters who are registered under Gajuwaka police station limits.
Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said that the police are ready to give a fair opportunity to rowdysheeters to reform and close cases against them. He conducted a one to one interaction with each rowdysheeter in front of the media and also spoke to their family members. He asked the police stations concerned to keep a daily beat register on the activities of all registered rowdysheeters and also keep a close watch on them.
