Makes away with 10 tolas of Gold and Cash worth of Rs. 10,000
A couple, I Janaki Ramiah came to city from Vijayawada to attend a marriage function. According to IV town police, the couple checked in on Saturday night in Mantrayala Lodge in Dondaparti on Saturday evening.
On Sunday morning around 6.30, a room boy knocked the door and robbed 10 tolas of gold and cash of Rs.10,000 along with four debit cards and one credit card and by threaten with a knife point and fled away. Shocked over the incident, they informed the hotel staff at the reception counter and lodged a police complaint with the IV Town Police.
The Additional Comminssior of Police (Law and Order) KVV Gopala Rao, Deputy Police Commissioner Devadanam along with inspectors Vimala Kumari and Bheema Rao rushed to the spot and enquired the incident with the victims. However, the couple denied speaking to the media. The IV Town Sub Inspector Bala Surya Rao registered a case and police launched a manhunt for the accused. During interrogation with the management, they said that the accused joined the hotel only four days back. Before giving employment in the hotel, the management failed to verify the anticedents of the accused and the police are planning to take action against the management for not maintaining the records of the staff.
