APSRTC introduces two Garuda services to Tirupati and Express services to Kakinada
APSRTC Zonal Chairman Majji Narayanarayana Rao on Friday flagged off Garuda and Express services at Central Bus station. Speaking on the occasion with the media, he said that during the tenure of TDP Government, the APSRTC was in looses to the tune of Rs.1450 crores and after Congress came to power, every effort has taken to bring the APSRTC into profits. He advised the opposition party not to criticize but to give suggestions for the improvement of the ASPRTC.
Speaking on the occasion, the Executive Director PVD Sankar said that the APSRTC is negotiating with the government for purchase of lands and extending more amenities. He said that caution is being taken in maintaining buses in condition and in cleanliness. He asked the general public to bring any grievances directly to him.
APSRTC Regional Manager N Venkateswara Rao said that they are compelled to withdraw the service to Kolkata due to losses and two Garuda services are being operated to Tirupati and express services to Kakinada in addition to the existing ones. The Garuda service will leave Visakhapatnam at 5.30pm and reach Tirupati at 9.45am on the next day and in return trip it starts at 8.30pm at Tirupati and reach Visakhapatnam at 7.50am on the next day. The fare is fixed at Rs.838 for adults and Rs.636 for children. Srikakulam Regional Manager and other top officials participated.
