19 shops completely burnt into ashes
A fire accident on the morning of Tuesday at Poorna Market has burnt down nearly 19 shops into ashes. Preliminary estimates put the loss at Rs. 5 lakhs. Visakhapatnam-I MLA Dronamraju Srinivas visited the spot and consoled the victims who lost their shops. He assured them that all possible assistance will be extended to them.
According to reliable sources, the fire accident occurred at around 3am in a shop due to electrical short circuit. As there is no body at the time of fire accident, the fire broke out and gutted 7 shops and 12 footpath shops leaving them into ashes.
The GVMC Mayor, P Janaradhana Rao along with Deputy Mayor Dorabbai and GVMC Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Meena and other revenue officials rushed to the spot and enquired the cause of the fire accident and assured them of all possible help.
