Two persons dead; 53 severely injured
In two separate road accidents in the district on Thursday, two persons died while 53 persons injured four of them seriously. APSRTC bus fell into a 50 metre gorge at Yerrabommla in Chintapalli mandal on Thursday morning killing one R Padmavathi, ANM instantly leaving 49 injured. According to sources, the bus was coming from Kondavanchala and was negotiating a curve at Yerrabommla road when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into the valley by overturning before it landed into the valley
The injured were provided first aid at Chintapalli Primary Health centre and those who suffered serious injuries were transported to KGH by another APSRTC bus. The Regional Manager of APSRTC, N Venkateswara Rao rushed to the spot and oversaw the relief operations.
In another incident at Vedulapalem in Nakkapalli mandal, one person died and four injured when an RTC but hit a lorry on the highway. APSRTC driver K Demudu was killed on the spot itself and the injured were rushed to the Nakkapalli Primary Health Centre.
