Buses to be operated daily
The Visakhapatnam region of APSRTC will introduce two more Volvo buses to Tirupati from the third week of this month. The buses will be operated daily in both the directions. The APSRTC Regional Manager N Venkateswara Rao said that this would be in addition to the two Volvos deployed on the Visakhapatnam-Bangalore route which go via Tirupati.
He said that as per schedule, the bus from Visakhapatnam would leave at 5.30pm and reach Tirupati at 7.30am on the next day and in the return direction, it would leave at 7.30pm at Tirupati and reach Visakhapatnam at 9am.
APSRTC Assistant Manager (Traffic) V Srinivas said patronage for Sabarimala package tours was overwhelming from Ayyappa devotees as bookings for 61 trips had already been made for the ‘Mandalam’ season alone. He said more bookings were expected for ‘Makara Vilakku’ season that would begin from January 1 and the first Sabarimala special would leave from Visakhapatnam on November 14.
