Loss estimated at Rs.7 lakhs
13 houses are gutted to ashes in a fire accident that occurred on Friday evening in Nandavarapuvaniplem under the purview of Pendurty mandal. Fortunately there is no human life. However, preliminary reports indicates that the estimate loss is Rs.7 lakhs.
At the time of fire accidents, the residents were away to farm works. According to an eye witness, the fire broke from the house of one S Demudu's hut and has rapidly spread to neighbouring houses turning 13 houses into ashes. On receipt of information, the Pendurty police alerted and fire tenders were pressed from Sabbavaram and Marripalem to get the flames controlled. The timely action of police as well as fire department officials averted a major mishap.
Pendurty Sub Inspector T Appalanaidu along with police force and fire officials played a key role in controlling the fire and further loss. The Parawada MLA Gandi Babji, ZPTC member R Narayanarayana Rao visited the spot and consoled the victims. Tahsildar P Seshasilaja is making efforts to know to actual loss due to fire accident.
