Funds meant for purchase of medicines
The Minister for Health and Family welfare Sambhani Chanrasekhar at a review meeting held with the north Andhra medical officers on Thursday said that the Government has sanctioned Rs.150 crore for purchase of medicines for the Government Hospitals in the State. He said that fifty percent of the funds were allocated additionally in the budget to purchase medicines.
Family welfare commissioner Anil Chandra Puneetha said a district level inter sectoral coordinator committee meeting should be convene as soon as possible. Funds should be released immediately to the beneficiaries under 'Janani Suraksha' scheme. He called the officials to take steps to eradicate malaria and the month of June would be observed as Anti Malarial Month.
In the meeting, the Health director P Venkateswarulu asked the health staff to reside at the place of work and be available to the pubic. Malaria cases came down drastically in the Paderu Agency area and said that only 549 cases were registered this year.
