To recruit 2000 students from colleges
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy inaugurated the new Satyam City Centre campus at Visakhapatnam. Speaking at the inauguration program, he said that the Government will take all steps to transform Visakhapatnam as an international destination by bringing in good infrastructure and facilities.
The Chairman of Satyam Computer Services Limited, B. Ramalinga Raju said on Thursday who was in the city to attend the inauguration of Satyam City Centre said that the company will provide employment to nearly 2000 students from colleges in and around Visakhapatnam. Speaking to media, he said that the development centre would be fully operational with 750 employees in the coming couple of months in the first phase. Another 1300 persons will be employed in the next one and half year. At present the centre is being operated with 60 employees. General Electric is the first client for Satyam at Visakhapatnam.
He said that the Development Centre in the city would provide a broad range of services including information technology and business process outsourcing for customers in Asia and Europe. He opined that the centre would play a key role in making the city the next IT hub in the State. Satyam is one of the first Tire-1 Information Technology companies to start their operations in the City of Destiny – Visakhapatnam. Apart from its City Centre, Satyam also has an SEZ allotment at Thotlakonda where a 50 acre land is available for expanding its operations in the district. Other companies that have plans to start their operations in Visakhapatnam include Wipro, Infotech Enterprises apart from many others.
