Aircraft caught in Soft ground arrest; Passengers and Crew safe

A Paramount Aircraft trying to land at the Visakhapatnam Airport was caught in an aircraft soft ground arrest making the plan to skid off the runway. The aircraft of the Paramount Airways started from Hyderabad at 9:30 AM and reached Visakhapatnam at about 11:05 AM. The aircraft had 70 passengers and 2 crew staff.

Passengers say that the pilot was unable to judge the correct landing position when getting the plane to land while the official sources says that the aircraft is caught in an soft ground arrest which is meant to prevent the aircraft from skidding during emergency situations.

All the passengers and the crew are safe. All flights that are to land at Visakhapatnam Airport are being canceled on Saturday. Airport authorities say they are making arrangements to ensure operational normalcy as soon as possible. Passengers however felt sad at the inability of the airways or the airport to arrange an alternative transportation to Hyderabad. Many of the passengers, including few foreigners, are forced to miss their connecting airplanes from Hyderabad. Few of them however have managed to hire taxi or buses at a premium to ensure that they reach Hyderabad by night so that they can catch the connecting airplane from Hyderabad to their destination.
