Visakhapatnam and Tirupati awaits inauguration
The facility of night landing works at Visakhapatnam and Tirupati airports are now complete and awaits inauguration. However, the development work at Vijayawada airport is yet to be completed. A 10,000 long elevated runway has been constructed at Visakhapatnam with night landing facility. Instrument landing system has been installed at the airport.
According to Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh Aviation Corporation KV Brahmananda Reddy, once the Director General of Civil Aviation givens green signal, these services will be put to operation. According to him, the total investment had costed Rs.200 crores.
Apart from these facilities, a new terminal building with three aerobridges and additional capacity to handle international travelers and anding facility for international aircraft at a cost of Rs.100 crore would also come up by the year end. He added that any time the Tirupati Airport will be inaugurated. He added that the Government had sought the installation of ILS in this airport.
