Ban on smoking in VUDA parks

Fine up to Rs. 50 to be imposed for the violators

The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) Vice Chairman G Venkataram Reddy releasing a poster against tobacco usage on the eve of World Anti Tobacco Day on Thursday said that instructions have been issued to the officials to impose ban on smoking on the premises of VUDA parks and properties.

He asked the officials not to implement the ban forcibly but create awareness against tobacco usage. And the ban on smoking in public places will be implemented at all VUDA properties in a phased manner. Those violators have to shell down Rs. 50 as a fine to VUDA.
