Allegedly indulging in unauthorized quarryingThe vigilance wing of the Department of Mines and Geology has seized earth moving equipment and two lorries as their operators were allegedly indulging in unauthorized quarrying.
According to the Assistant Geologist EVVS Choudhary, the operators were lifting gravel from a hillock near Kapuluppada on Sunday, on a tip off, a team of officials visited the area, and seized the equipment, which were used from the transport of 150 trips of gravel. The cost of the seized equipment worth over Rs. 30 lakhs was handed over to the Bheemunipatnam police for safe custody.
