Dispute in rivalry groups believed to have led to his murder

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Leader S Kondababu was stabbed to death in his house while he was asleep at Kondapalli Agraharam in Buchhayyapeta mandal.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police of Anakapalle, G Hari Gopal, a dispute between TDP and Congress groups in the village on the sidelines of a temple festival led to the murder. The wife of the deceased lodged a complaint with the police suspecting the involvement of Congress activist G Achhannaidu in the murder of her husband. The police are investigating the case.
