Visakhapatnam, March 12, 2007

A press release issued by the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant said that a fire broke out in the VSP on Monday partially burnt two conveyer belts. The management denied the reports in the media that it was a major accident and described it as a minor one.

The Chairman and Managing Director of VSP Y. Siva Sagar Rao said that it was a small incident in a big plant like Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. He further said that no loss of production and steps were taken to stop spread of the fire. He said that the both belts will be replaced immediately.
