Demands supply of sanctioned cement bagsThe beneficiaries of Indiramma villages gheraoed the officials of AP Housing Corporation at Araku on Wednesday demanding distribution of cement bags they were sanctioned for the construction of the houses under the Indiramma scheme.
Nearly two hundred beneficiaries from nearby villages approached the officials at APHC godown for cement bags in the morning. Thought they waited till late in the evening, the tribals were not given bags by the officials on the plea that there was no stock sufficient.
Angry tribals gheraoed the officials and refused to leave the premises till they were distributed cement bags. However, the officials managed to escape from the godown. The tribals were approaching the officials for the same for last few days. They alleged the cement bags were diverted to black market.
