End of violence against women is theme for the yearThe employees of the Indian Bank observed the International Women's Day with much gaiety on Thursday. The Deputy General Manager of the Bank, M. Gopalakrishna emphasized the need for imparting equal rights to women. He said that to end impunity for violence against women is the theme of this year's Women's Day Celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, the Bank's special schemes for women Krishnan said that the Bank launched 'IB Aiswarya Card' for women in the age group of 18 to 50 years. The card can be used for education, purchase of vehicles and utility equipments.
Visakhapatnam Chief Planning Officer J. Vijaya Lakshmi, ex-MLA G. Sumana and Andhra University Professor Tara Kumari were present on the occasion.
