225 polling centres to be setupAccording to a press release from the District Collector Anil Kumar Singhal, the release said that 48 candidates are in the fray for the Legislative Council Elections. Out of these, 31 candidates are contesting from Legislative Council elections from the graduates' constituency of north coastal Andhra districts, 13 are in from teachers’ constituency and 4 from local bodies' constituency.
The release said that 224 polling centres were set up for the graduates' constituency. 55 in Srikakulam and 121 in Visakhapatnam and 48 in Vizianagaram district. For Teachers' constituency, a total of 121 poling centres were set up. 38 in Srikakulam, 48 in Visakhapatnam and 35 in Vizianagaram while 42 polling centres were set up in for local bodies' constituency in Visakhapatnam.
He said that 1,26,900 ballot papers were necessary for graduates' constituency, 13,100 for teachers' constituency and 970 for local bodies' constituency. The administration has appointed 133 presiding officers for graduates' constituency, 53 presiding officers for teachers' constituency and 46 for local bodies's constituency.
