Green Belt in and around Port areas with a cost of Rs. 20 crores
The World Environment Day was celebrated by various non governmental organizations in the city. The Visakhapatnam I MLA Dronamraju Srinivas speaking on the occasion at a function organized by AP Pollution Board district wing at VUDA Childrens Theatre on Tuesday said that Green Belt will be developed with a cost of Rs. 20 crores in and around port areas. He urged the people to arrest the pollution and save the environment on their part.
He said that due to the pollution emanating from Port, the people residing nearby areas are put to health problems and said that he had already discussed the matter with the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy to check the pollution.
AP Pollution Control Board Environmental engineer Sriramama Murthy, Joint Environment Engineer in charge Bhaskara Rao, AU Civil Engineering Professor Ramakrishna Rao were present on the occasion.
