Achieves record sales

The Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the holding company of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant has achieved a record sales of Rs. 1294 crores during April-May this year registering an impressive growth of 21 percent over the corresponding last year period.

An RINL spokesman said that the sale of 1.87 lakh tonnes of value added steel in April-May this year was a whooping 62 per cent more over the same period last year. The RINL is also now the largest supplier of special steel that enables manufacture of elastic railway clips used for fastening the railway track to the Railway sleepers.

The Project sales volumes of 92,000 tonnes during April-May this year is also achieved eight percent growth over the same period last year. Export sales of Rs. 75 crores by 20 percent over the period last year while the sale of 2038 tonnes during April-May this year to district level dealers serving the rural market was the highest target in a month, he said.
