Aimed at catering the deficiencies in public utility services
The permanent Lok Adalats that aimed at catering to the deficiencies in the public utility services have started functioning in Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Kadapa, Karimnagar and Chittoor districts. Speaking to media, the permanent Lok adalat chairperson and additional district judge Leelavati said that the 26 member Permanent Lok Adalat Forum would deal with the issues like deficiencies in transport services, accident cases, drinking water, power, insurance and banking.
She said that one the award is passed, it will be binding on the both the parties. However, either of the aggrieved party can approach the High Court for revision of the Award The litigant who approaches the Lok Adalat will not be charged any court fee for filing the case and it takes up cases having a maximum monetary value of Rs. 10 lakhs.
