Over 15,000 candidates apply for jobs

The Hindu Opportunities Fair that concluded today has drawn good response. As many as 15,000 candidates have given their interviews to leading corporates, many of them from the IT and ITES sectors. Apart from Vizagities, candidates from Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore and Bhubaneswar too have taken part in the jobfair. Graduates and Postgraduates, freshers and experienced professionals including few H1 Visa and green-card holders too have participated in the fair. First timers got an opportunity to take up a recruitment interview to try their luck.

The Hindu Opportunities Fair 2007 was held at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium and is organized by The Hindu, a leading English daily. The event is presented by Cognizant. Some leading corporates such as Cognizant, Verizon, HSBC, 24/7 Customer, Allsec, Brigade, Efftronics Systems, Gems Techno Solutions, Genpact, HDFC Standard Life Insurance, Kanexa, Nipuna, Nunet Technologies, Sankhya Technologies, Slash Support, Sutherland Global Services, Wipro BPO and Xinthe Technologies were present to hire some qualified professionals from Visakhapatnam.
