Air Deccan only one operated
According to a press release, Indian Airlines, Paramount, Kingfisher and Air Sahara have cancelled their flight services on Tuesday due to poor weather. Only one flight Air Deccan was operated between Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam.
The Union Minister for Mines, T Subbi Rami Reddy said in a press conference that the Director General of Civil Aviation Kanu Gohain and Airports Authority of India Chairman K Ramalingam would inspect the improved facilities at Visakhapatnam Airport on June 7 and 8. It is expected they would give green signal for trial run on the expanded runway and other upgraded facilities.
The Minister held discussions with DGCA and AAI officials and Defense Secretary Vinay Kumar to give speedy clearance for the project. He said that the Union Minister would inaugurate the Airbus operations, Instrument Landing and night landing facilities in the last week of the month. Defense Minister AK Anthony will participate as the Chief Guest.
