Panels to select beneficiaries for Rajiv Swagruha

The Minister for Housing Botsa Satyanarayana speaking to reporters on Monday said that the District Level committees headed by Joint Collectors and comprising Revenue Divisional Officers and land acquisition officers have been constituted to select the beneficiaries of Rajiv Swagruha scheme. He expressed confidence that the scheme would be completed as per schedule and that it would be grounded in one or two districts soon.

He said that the process of selection of beneficiaries is being monitored by higher officials in Hyderabad and steps were taken to prevent ineligible persons from benefiting this scheme. He added that the government would acquire private land if necessary for the construction of houses under the scheme and it would not hesitate to in taking back land in possession of urban development bodies like VUDA.

Multi storeyed apartments would be constructed in places like Bheemili and Anakapalli where land is scare. The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation and VUDA would be involved in housing the projects in and around Visakhapatnam.
