CPI (M) alleged government on divergent statements

A draft notification for acquisition of 350 acres of land in Makavaripalem mandal, where the Rus Al Khaimha company is proposing to set up an alumina refinery and cogeneration plant to process the bauxite mined in the agency area received strong protest from the CPI(M). The CPI (M) district secretary Ch Narasinga Rao on Tuesday visited Ramannapalem one of the villages where the land would be acquired and interacted with the villagers. He alleged that the Congress government is making divergent statements on the issue of alumina factory.

The District Collector, on Monday announced that the draft notification had been issued. He stressed the party's demand that land be not acquired in the Makavaripalem area. The Ootageda reservoir construction commenced near China Rachapalli after a long struggle.
