VUDA Chairman says this will be a continuous effort
The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) has taken up a massive plantation drive to provide for healthy surroundings in the urban as well as rural areas. At a plantation programme in Gajuwaka industrial park on Tuesday, the VUDA chairman PSN Raju said that it will be a continuous activity to make environment 'Oxy rich'.
He said that the VUDA has been evolving policies to involve people in eco-development and achieve the targets of Green Visakha and Green Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region (VMR). The VUDA is implementing the guidelines to develop greenery in its own and approved layouts in the GVMC limits on fifty fifty funding basis.
The VUDA Vice Chairman G Venkataram Reddy said 50,000 saplings of varies species were planed in D and E blocks of Gajuwaka industrial park which is being developed by Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation. Top officials of the VUDA were present on the occasion.
