Visakhapatnam, July 12, 2007

It will supply, erection and commissioning of three continuous casting machines

The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) signed a contract agreement with Danieli & C Spa of Italy for supply, erection and commissioning of three continuous casting machines which convert liquid steel into bullets. These bullets are used as inputs for other rolling mills viz, were rod mill and seamless tube mill and special bar mill in the second stage of the 6.3 million ton expansion works of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs.538 crore involves a foreign component of 32 million Euros to be completed in 25 months. He Indian crematorium partners of Danieli are Gillanders Arbuhnot, Kolkata and Danieli Engineering India.

The agreement was signed by the Executive Director (Projects) AK Banerjee and Danieli India vice president (Commercial) R Benjamin, Executive Director (Finance) Gillanders and BK Ghosh of Danieli Engineering India Limited. Chairman of the VSP, PK Bishnoi and other top officials were present on the occasion.
