One Town Area reverbates with vedic hymns

The streets of One town reverberated with the chanting of Vedic hymns during the annual Jagannath Swamy Radha Yatra that began from Sri Jagannadha Swamy temple in Poona market. Special rituals were performed to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra in the wee hours.

The chariot was later taken out of the temple premises and pulled by thousands of devotes who came from different parts of the north coastal districts. The road resembled a sea of humanity and the festive spirit was all pervasive.

The Jagannath Swamy temple has been decked up Dasvataram beginning from Tuesday. The festival in various temples in the state amidst the performing of special rituals. The police officials made tight security arrangements to prevent any untoward incident.
