State Information Commissioner to display signboards at Government offices

The State Information Commissioner, Dileep Reddy has called up on all heads of departments of Government offices to ensure that signboards depicting the Right To Information Act be displayed at all offices for public consumption.

Speaking at a review meeting on Sunday, he expressed the view that the Act is yet to take roots in the district as was identified during his visit to several offices in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam and Paderu Revenue division.

He asked the officials concerned to review implementation of the Act along with other government programmes. He said that out of 926 petitions received in this regard, 792 were cleared and the rest are under consideration.
