The Maoists detonated an electrical sub station and also blasted the house of former MLA Balaraju in Chintappali mandal. This incident caused panic in the Agency area and the power supply was interrupted at several villages.
According to available information, nearly 300 armed extremists participated in the operation. Thy came to the sub station and asked the staff to come out and later blasted the sub station with the explosives. They also detonated the house of former MLA in a similar manner. Similarly they also blow a TV Tower.
The action of Maoists action is stated to be a protest against the proposed bauxite mining project in the district.
