Radha Yatra will be conducted from July 15 to 26
The Lord Jagannadha Swamy Temple Executive Officer V Ambuja said that the Kalyanotsavam and Radha Yatra of Sri Lord Jagannadha Swamy will be conducted at the Jagannadha Swamy temple from July 16 to 26. Speaking to media on Saturday, the Chairman of the Temple Committee SV Ranga Rao said that the celebrations were already started on Friday with invocation followed by special homams on Saturday. Purnahuti and Netrotsavam would be conducted on Sunday when the new idols would be ready and would be followed by Subhadra Santi Kalyanam.
According to the temple Executive Officer, the estimated expenditure for the festival was Rs. 1 lakh. The Dasavathara decoration would be performed by an expert from Nellore, Anatanarayanacharyulu who had earlier performed an excellent job of it at Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi temple in the city, Sri Satyanarayana Swamy temple at Annavaram and Sri Narusimhaswamy temple at Yadagirigutta and won the appreciation of the devotees.
The Executive Officer further said that Annadanam for 500 persons daily during the ten days and a quite few sponsors came forward to contribute their mite during the celebrations. He said that the Kalyanotsavam would be held on July 15 night and the Visakhapatnam-I MLA Dronamraju Srinivasarao will begin the festivals.
