Eastern Naval Commands plantation drive

ENC will hold the drive on July 8

The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) will hold a plantation drive on July 8 as a prelude to the 4th Military World Games to be hosted by Hyderabad in October to mark 100 days to the sporting extravaganza. Naval personnel and their families and NCC cadets cover naval areas at selected places on this occasion.

INS Circars Commanding Officer Commodore GV Babu will inaugurate the event at 7.30am. It is a part of the native wide drive aimed at projecting the human face of the services and to highlight their contribution to nation building and as part of broader mission called ' Green India' to protect environment.

According to an official release, the aim of the Military Games is to generate friendship and solidarity among the World's Armed Forces. It is being held under the aegis of International Military Sports Council located at Brussels. This is the first time that the Military World Games are being held in Asia . Nearly 5000 athletes and 1000 officials from 27 countries are participating in the games.
