Bhu poratam takes new turn at Visakhapatnam

The district committee of CPI (M) charged that Congress activists on Tuesday attacked poor families who had erected huts on Government hands at Sabbavaram. The district secretary Ch Narasinga Rao demanded that several poor and Dalit women were injured in the attack and the culprits must be arrested immediately.

According to him, poor people had occupied the land in Survey No.271 about two months ago and the local Tahasildar agreed to issue Pattas to them and selected beneficiaries. When these families erected huts on the land some Congress leaders who had encroached a art of the land resorted to violence.

The CPI (M) demanded the government to book cases against the culprits under SC, ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act and provide security to the poor families and Pattas should be issued immediately.
