180 seater to run as a daily service
The Air Deccan has launched on Tuesday the first airbus operation from Visakhapatnam to Kolkata. The Airbus with a capacity of 180 seats will have daily service. After the modernization and extending runway, the first airbus successfully landed and took off.
Efforts are on to make the airport operations round the clock once Navy gets ready to spare its manpower for facilitating night landing facility. Though, the necessary infrastructure is put in place, night landing is yet to be introduced.
Indian and King Fisher are also gearing up to introduce airbus service from the city to Hyderabad, Bangalore and other important destinations shortly according to airport sources. According to Air Deccan spokesman said that they were operating 71 flights daily in the State.
