Visakhapatnam, January 1, 2007

The Chairman and Managing Director, Y. Siva Sagar Rao speaking at a function of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant in connection with the New Year celebrations said that the year 2006 was a very satisfying and bright year in all aspects.

He said that the VSP has bagged several prestigious awards at the national level, particularly in national energy conservation award for the seventh consecutive year and the CII excellence award towards strong commitment. The silver jubilee celebrations will show case the steel fraternity what the RINL is today.

He said that a sales turnover of over Rs. 9000 crores was achieved in the calendar year 2006, which is the best since its inception. The production of 3.12 million tonnes of finished steel and 3298 million tonnes of saleable steel during the past year is also considered the best. Top officials of the VSP participated in the function.
