Smog continues to hamper air trafficFlight services from Visakhapatnam airport were cancelled for the fourth consecutive day due to poor visibility and the smog that has been hanging low almost over the entire city. Passengers booked connecting flights to different destinations in the country seems to be hard hit due to cancellation of flight services.
Visakhapatnam MP N. Janardhana Reddy wrote a letter to the Minister for Civil Aviation, Praful Patel on Tuesday requesting him to look into the matter personally. He requested the Minister to address the concerned to speed up safety inspection of the newly laid runway by the Airports Authority of India and the Director General, Civil Aviation to expedite the operation of VFR and installation of the Instrument Landing System before Republic day.
