AU registrar held an emergency meeting

The founder Vice Chancellor of Andhra University CR Reddy’s statue was found damaged at the Convocation Hall on the University premises on Wednesday. The statue of VS Krishna at VS Krishna Library was also vandalized.

The Three Town Circle Inspector A. Narasimha Murty registered a case based on a complaint by the University authorities and are investigating the case. The intelligence team collected the fingerprints on the pole behind CR Reddy statue. Meanwhile, the AU Registrar P. Vijaya Prakash held an emergency meeting the officials concerned and condemned the incident.

The Andhra University United Staff Union, Andhra University Teachers’ Association, SC, ST and BC-C Non teaching Employees Welfare Association, All Universities non teaching Employees Association and All India Students Federation (AISF) denounced the desecration of the statues.
