Chief Minister’s visit to be hassle freeIn view of the Chief Minister’s visit to the city on Saturday, the city police has taken into custody most of the CPM activists and leaders as a precautionary measure. The CPM which spearheading the land struggle agitation could not continue it today with the police swinging into action by rounding them off. Mean while, the CPI (M) has faxed a message to the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy seeking an appointment during his visit to deliberate on the issue of allotment of vacant land to the landless.
CPM district secretary Ch Narasinga Rao said that they would urge the Chief Minister to change the policy regarding land allotment to industrial houses as well as its stand on offering houses in place of house sites for the beneficiaries.
A joint committee consisting of S. Padmanabha Raju of CPM, Jaheer Ahmedh (TDP), Lakshmi from New Democracy and Allam Apparao from CPML Liberation would likely to meet he Chief Minister and represent their demands.
