Bronze statue of Dronamraju to be unveiled on Friday

Chief Minister to attend the function

The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy will unveil the bronze statue of veteran Congress leader Dronamraju Satyanarayana on January 6, 2007 at Siripuram Junction. At a press conference, the Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Congress Committee president and MLA Dronamraju Srinivasa Rao said that his late father had played a major role in the development of Visakhapatnam and its surroundings.

Parliament Members N. Janardhana Reddy and T. Subbirami Reddy, congress leaders and activists will participate in the function. The Chief Minister will also participate in a review meeting with the Congress leaders in view of the ensuing GVMC elections. He said that the Government had taken up several developmental activities in the city. Apart from sanctioning of 15,000 pucca houses under Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission (JNURM) and launching of land for the poor mission, the government has sanctioned about 26,000 pensions in the city and is also setting up a super specialty hospital.
