Best farmers get Sankranti Puraskarams

Farmers presented with Rs. 5000

The Best Farmers for Kharif 2006 were given away the ‘Sankranti Puraskaram’ at a function on Wednesday. Each of the farmers was presented Rs. 5000 and a memento. Officials of Agriculture Department and various banks were felicitated.

Speaking at the meeting, Zilla Parishad Chairman G. Ramamurthy Naidu asked agriculture officials to train farmers on getting more yield and containing pests. District Collector, AK Singhal who presided over the function said Rs. 314 crores had been given as credit to the farmers during the kharif season.
