Andhra Pradesh excel well in Taekwondo meet

CISF wins gold in welterweight division

Andhra Pradesh players fared well in the 4th National Open Junior and Senior Taekwondo Championship being held at Swarnabharati Indoor Stadium. In the junior boys’ division, M. Sriram Bhagat has won gold medal in the welterweight category and Venkaesh clinched the gold in the light middleweight category.

In junior girls’ division, Manipur won two gold medals in welterweight and light middle categories. Jharkhand won the gold in the flyweight category. In the senior men’s division, the CISF won the gold in welterweight division while Sanjeev Kumar of AP settled with the bronze.

In the senior women’s division, K. Srilakshmi of AP clinched the gold in heavy weight category by defeating Milan Dhanwade of Maharastra while Tamil Nadu and the CRPF won gold medal.
