Visakhapatnam, February 14, 2007Eight bomb disposal squads and seven dog squads deployed
The one-day India vs. Sri Lanka international cricket match to be played at ACA-VDCA Stadium on February 17, the District Police are deploying eight bomb squads and seven dog squads as a precautionary measure.
The Superintendent of Police, JG Murali stated in a press release that nearly 2000 police personnel are pressed into service. Spectators will be frisked and have pas through metal detectors all the 24 entrance. Those having valid passed would be given entry and people are asked not to carry eatables and other objects into the ground.
Heavy vehicles proceeding towards Stadium on the NH 5 will be diverted via Gopalapatnam, Pendurty and Anandapuram like vise vice versa. The release said that passes are being issued for parking of vehicles. Nearly 120 signboards are being displayed to guide the people about traffic regulations.
