BHEL-BHPV merger process to commence in AprilThe INTUC national president and Rajya Sabha member G Sanjeeva Reddy speaking to media on Monday has said that the BHEL will manager and finance the BHPV for two years and later effect the merger. The process will start in the month of April according to him.
He further said tight negotiations are on for financial reconstructing of Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL). Talks are also on with the ministries of Finance and Shipping to cut down the interest rates and convert HSL loans into capital. He stressed the need to cut down the export of iron or to countries like China and Japan to protect the Indian Steel Industry.
He demanded implementation of Arjun Sen Gupta Committee recommendations for the unorganized sector which will cost the Central Government Rs. 36,000 crore in the coming ten years. He stated that the regular workers are ready to contribute one percent of their basic salary and the rest to be contributed by the managements, State and Central Governments.
