VUDA cracks whip on Pharma City promoters

The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) has initiated action on Friday against the promoters of the Pharma City by partly demolishing the commercial hub constructed by the RPCIL, Industrial building of Vijayasri Organics, Industrial building of Actus, Glochem and Vasudha Pharma. The move was part of pressurizing the promoters and developers to pay development charges fo the approval of the Pharma City and individual building plans.

According to a press release by the VUDA, it has advised the Zonal Manager of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation against permitting any kind of construction works without payment of development charges. The Pharma City has been lagging behind in submitting revised layout plan showing buffer zone, high-tension lines, open space measurements and payment of processing fee, conversion charges despite several reminders.

Despite that, the RPCIL agreeing to pay the development charges of Rs. 3 crores at a meeting with the VUDA Vice Chairman in last yea, no follow-up action has been taken yet.
