Prominent hotels in the city are gearing up for the February 14, the day obsevered by lovers as the Valentines Day. Hotel Green Park is hosting a special Valentines Evening with special programs and delicious food in an ambient atmosphere. Flower basket shops and gift stores too are ready with Valentines Day specials.

On the other hand, ABVP feels celebrations such as there are used to spread foreign culture. The Visakhapatnam Unit of the ABVP staged a rally in protest of the celebrations.
