U-14 and U-16 Championships also to be heldThe Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) Vice Chairman and director of the tournament G Venkataram Reddy that the second CMR-AISTA (All India Senior Tennis Association) senior National Ranking Tennis Championship -2007 will be organized from February 5 to 10. AISTA national ranking talent series for boys and girls will also be held simultaneously as part of the championship. Under-12 and Under 14 competitions for boys and girls will also be held.
He further said signing in for qualifying would take place from 2pm to 5pm on February 2, qualifying rounds would be held on February 3, and 4 and signing in for the main draw would be held on February 4. He added that the Officer's club is the main venue for the event. Matches will also be held at the tennis courts at Andhra University Faculty Club, Waltair Club and Century Club and GVK group is the friendly sponsor of the tournament.
In the Seniors category, 264 payers are participating from Delhi, Gujarat, Maharastra, Tamilnadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa and West Bengal. Two veteran players from Nepal are also taking part in the event. He said 24 medals will be awarded to the winners.
