Two arrested in connection with the murder
The Visakhapatnam Police achieved a breakthrough in the murder of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant employee and INTUC leader K Kanna Rao. The police arrested two persons involved in the murder of Kanna Rao. Sources say that the two belong to Kurnool district. Speaking to media, Visakhapatnam City Police Commissioner, N Sambasiva Rao said that the main accused Bharat Kumar who is a neighbor of the victim took on rent a land adjoining the house of the deceased to run an automobile service station.
For reasons yet to be established, the deceased had tried to evacuate the accused from the site. He said that the civic amenities were also disconnected to the site belonging to the accused to vacate the rented site. He added there was recorded evidence to prove the enmity that existed between the neighbors. Bharat Kumar and his friend Ankhanna decided to eliminate the deceased and watched his movements. The accused followed him from at 6.40pm on December 6 and hacked him to death on NH 5 near Yedumetla Marripalamem bus station.
The police solved the puzzle based on the circumstancal evidence. The accused bought the sickles from blacksmiths at New Railway near Railway colony before committing the crime. The City Task Force Sub Inspector K Lakshmana Murty and Parawada Sub Inspector P Pydi Naiau led by Circle Inspector Ravi Varma and ACP South P Venkata Rao zeroed in on the suspects.
