Metro Bus Passes to be offered at Rs.440 per month
In view of the increasing demands of bus commuters in the Visakhapatnam City region, the Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) launched Metro Express Bus Pass facility starting Friday. Speaking to media, the Executive Director of APSRTC Vijayawada and Viziangaram Zone, PVD Jayasankar Prasad said that the metro express buses are now being increasingly replaced with the latest model. He said that the buses would have additional amenities like cushion seats, audio system with FM Radio and wider windows with tinted glasses and better illumination with saloon tube lights.
APSRTC launched metro express bus pass facility in the city for GBT holders with a tariff of Rs. 440pm. At present, all General Bus Ticket (GBT) and other bus pass holders are being permitted to travel in metro express buses on payment of minimum fare ticket fare additionally.
Out of the 108 metro express buses under operation in the city, 20 buses had already been replaced with the new express buses so far and 52 more buses were proposed to be replaced in a couple of months to reduce the traffic jams and to provide comfortable journey.
