Second Phase of Bhu Poratam on cards
The District secretary of CPI (M) Ch Narasinga Rao said that as a part of Bhu Poratam in the second phase, the Left parties would take up a Statewide fund raising drive on Saturday for the victims of the recent Mudigonda firing by the police that left six persons killed leaving many injured. He was speaking to media on Friday and said that they would take up a week long campaign from August 12 to motivate and mobilize people for the second phase of Bhu Poratam agitation.
He said that the very basic policy of the government was faulty and the policy of the government favors to the rich and it is against the poor. He said that 2,022 acres of prime land has been identified by the government in and around Visakhapatnam city for sale to private parties and that includes the lands in Kaparada and Yarada.
He commented that the intentions of the government have been made very clear by GO 1041 wherein the District Collector is empowered to take control of all assigned lands ion the 19 mandals that include places like Bheemunipatnam, Pendurty, Gajuwaka, Anakapalli and Payakaraopet and other. He commented that the assigned lands are meant to be distributed to the poor and landless but the move by the government makes its intentions clear. He added that the lands in the mandals of Atchutapuram and Rambilli have already been acquired by the government for the proposed Special Economic Zones.
