Demands survey of Forest & Revenue Department Lands

The CPI State Secretary, K Narayana speaking to media that it would extend the land struggle to surplus lands under the Urban Lands Act. He added that an ultimatum to the Government to take over the surplus lands in the possession of individuals, real estate companies and other organizations.

He demanded a comprehensive survey to identify the lands belonging to Forest and Revenue Departments to avoid confusion. Meanwhile, the CPI activists on Sunday pitched party flags and tents on lands belonging to the Minister Konatala Ramakrishna. The police left with no alternative to use force to disburse them and took 20 persons into custody.

On receiving information about the plans of the Left parties to occupy the lands, the police reached the sport well in advanced to foil their plan. But, they could not prevent the agitators from encroaching the lands.
